Benefits of Private Guitar Lessons vs. Self-Teaching

When taking up the guitar, it’s only natural to wonder if private guitar lessons are worth it, or if self-taught courses or YouTube tutorials are the way to go. While there are many helpful musical resources out there that can cover some of the basics of how to play guitar, they’re simply no substitute for the personal human touch that a professional guitar instructor can give.

All of our music teachers at Boston Piano Lessons are professionals who hold at least a 4-year degree and who are actively involved in the local music scene. Through their musical expertise and experience, your personal teacher will create a music lesson plan completely tailored to your skill level, goals, and progress. They can identify any challenges or roadblocks you run into, make recommendations, and discuss music theory to make sure you’re making the most of your time -- can a computer screen do that?

Guitar Classes for All Ages

Music is something that’s deeply personal for many. So, it only makes sense that if you’re taking music lessons, those lessons should be about you -- about the way you connect to music, learn, and want to grow.

Music can be an incredible form of self-expression, and our instructors look to cultivate this through each lesson. Our guitar lessons for adults are perfect for learners of all experience levels, so you can turn to us whether you used to play guitar and want to pick it up again or you’re starting from a completely blank slate. We also provide customized guitar classes for kids where they can learn their favorite songs and develop their growing mind while discovering a love for music.
